good day machine

so
I'm pretty much very alone and bored.
work's good.
class isn't. at all.
this is a mediocre summer so far
but hanging out in hollis has not been.

Time to finish that write that was staring me in the face for the past couple of weeks:

I'm an empty summer swimming pool
rusty disregarded bikes are strewn along the side
come and show me
my reflection in your eye

My life's a book half written
corners bent from going back to figure things out
to scribble over
those I couldn't think about

Someone turned off
the good day machine
laid to waste
all who dared to dream
One man stands
In the aftermath
Trying to wipe from his eyes
All that he has seen

I'm a lost letter
once sent to somebody I used to know
sealed with doubts concealed
questioning where her heart did go

Now I'm just someone
spending my days and nights this way
going down to see
all of humanity on parade

we're not going anywhere

And I'm the one who broke
the good day machine
so we could see
what it all means.
