A couple IMs of note

So... I'm working at Sun now.
Always told myself I wasn't going to do that.
I said "self, your brother and dad already work there. money and references aren't... okay shit, well they are pretty sweet. okay."

But I still have conversations from time to time with my friends who stayed at the IOL, such as:

On Turing:

JW: I hope you're having fun there, because WE ARE.
JH: Well, it's not bad here at all. I'm writing a tool for proofing human output, kind of the opposite of what I did for you, which was proofing computer output. Damn, if I combine the two, that thing could pass the Turing test.
JW: haha that's awesome. That's totally blog-able.

On M$:

JH: I know Windows can do it... sometimes
JH: but it's nowhere close to a "oh here's a neat feature"
JH: it's more of a "well this is kind of like your bastard child's mother... unsupported, and you're not going to like it."
JH: haha oh god I'm awful
GR: HAHAHAHAHA

What is "normal" anyway?
